Illinois Power Agency Releases 2022 Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan for Public Review and Comment

The Illinois Power Agency (“IPA” or “Agency”) has released the draft 2022 Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan (“2022 Long-Term Plan” or “Plan”) for public review and comment.

The draft 2022 Long-Term Plan is published in accordance with Section 1-75(c)(1)(A) of the IPA Act (20 ILCS 3855), which requires the Agency to develop and publish the draft Plan within 120 days of the effective date of Public Act 102-0662 (by January 13, 2022). The draft 2022 Long-Term Plan reflects changes to the Renewable Portfolio Standard (“RPS”) and new statutory requirements stemming from the P.A. 102-0662, which took effect on September 15, 2021.

2022 Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan:

The Agency welcomes public comments on the draft Plan.

  • Written comments on the 2022 Long-Term Plan are due on Monday, February 28, 2022
  • The Agency will also hold a virtual public hearing for the 2022 Long-Term Plan on Friday, February 18, 2022
